Marcia Burns

Marcia has over 10 years’ experience across M&A advisory and acquisition search, supporting private equity firms, corporates and founder-led businesses in identifying and executing strategic growth opportunities.

As Director at Origin IQ, Marcia leads the firm’s research and target identification function. She is responsible for building and overseeing the research infrastructure that underpins Origin IQ’s off-market acquisition search mandates, ensuring that each engagement is supported by a highly targeted, data-led pipeline of strategically aligned acquisition opportunities.

Working closely with clients and the Origin IQ engagement team, Marcia oversees the development of longlists and target screening processes that translate acquisition criteria into structured market mapping and qualified deal flow.

Prior to joining Origin IQ, Marcia worked within corporate finance advisory teams at Benchmark International and Avondale Corporate, where she supported mid-market M&A transactions across a range of sectors. Her experience includes target identification, transaction support and research-led origination within adviser-led deal processes.

Outside of work, Marcia enjoys playing hockey and making memories with her daughter.
